Live workshop - how childhood defines who we are today
Ever wondered why you are the way that you are? Or why certain aspects of your life seem to be a ‘repeat’ of what you saw parents do when you were growing up?
In this open therapy session, Louise Rumball and Dr. Helene Laurent-Oliver, a Clinical Psychologist, specialising in child and adult mental health, sat down to talk about how your childhood impacts exactly who you are in adulthood.
In this workshop, you’ll get a chance to go through some exercises to help you reflect on how your childhood has defined who you are today. These exercise include:
A childhood reflection exercise - going through the relationships closest to you, for example, your mother, father, brother, sister;
Looking at attachment and how that affects our relationships;
Looking at how self-esteem develops over time.
If anything is triggering, feel free to step away and come back to this content when you’re feeling a little bit better.
