How are you *REALLY*? 💘
⋆˙⟡ This week I was feeling great - balancing work, working out, somatic healing, regular eating, hydration and great sleeping with some human connection too - and my Whoop was telling me that everything I was doing was working. That was until yesterday - when a horrible day at work had me sat on the kitchen floor questioning my life. And today? My Whoop is showing me the impact that stress has on our bodies. We know stress is bad for us but for me, actually seeing the data can help us actually take care of ourselves better. How are you, really?
Podcast Picks for Your Hot Girl, Healing Walk 🎧
Get out, get moving with my favorite podcasts from this week.
⋆˙⟡ Daddy Issues to Hyper Independent Boss Babes: now live on the Healing Honeys podcast, this week I launched the Healing Honeys Hotline and I answer a question from Alexia from the United States. I diving into the psycholoy, biology and energetics of the journey from "daddy issues" to “hyper-independence” and how it shapes our lives, relationships, and sense of self. On this episode, I explore the wounds left by emotionally unavailable fathers, the protective armor of hyper-independence, and how these patterns silently impact your adult dating life. Stream on Apple Podcasts here and Spotify here and scroll to the bottom of the email for the video version on YouTube.
⋆˙⟡ Billionaires, Boobs & Black Cards: sometimes healing doesn't have to be so damn serious all the time. Hallie Batchelder is the biggest breath of fresh air with her ‘Love me or hate me I honestly, truly, deeply don't give a fuck' attitude. She's inspiring because she truly gives zero f**ks. i loved this stupid, silly, slutty, shame-free episode with her and Alex Cooper on Call her Daddy. It had me lolling and realizing I need to lighten tf up sometimes. Stream on Apple Podcasts here and Spotify here. Reminder - give less of a sh*t this week.
Articles for Your Morning Matcha ☕
Replace morning scrolling with morning reading.
⋆˙⟡ Stress-reducing perfume? I'm late to the party here and have been watching the launch of the Nue Co's functional fragrance line through Instagram.. but I wasn't clear that they have launched a stress-relieving perfume. How epic. In a world of stressed out girlies (my forté) this scent is something I desperately want to try especially after smashing my most recent, hard to purchase, fragrance off the bedside table in my sleep literally days after buying it. *sob*.
⋆˙⟡ Could our Mom's eating sugar be one of the reasons we have health struggles today? A groundbreaking study by USC, UC Berkeley, and McGill this week revealed that higher sugar consumption of a Mom during pregnancy significantly increases the risk of chronic diseases of the CHILD in adulthood. Check the study here cos that be kinda crazy.
⋆˙⟡ Spotify users slam the worst ‘wrapped’ so far - why did it suck? Yesterday was spotify wrapped day and since then, Spotify users have been criticizing the 2024 Wrapped release for its delay, missing features like top genres and albums, and underwhelming experience with other users claiming that their most listened songs are not accurate whatsoever. As a podcaster, I've watched the layoffs at Spotify impact every area of their business and it's interesting now how it's creeping out into Spotify Wrapped too. This article covers all.
Social Media Isn't Free Therapy
(but these clips might be) 📱
⋆˙⟡ No one's lives ended because they married late - as a 36 year old non married woman this was the video I NEEDED to hear this week. Damn.
⋆˙⟡ Right before you go to the next level, it's going to feel like your entire life is crumbling -.I loved this video - because I've found that is spot on. Remember, there is always a contraction, a confusion, a downturn, a quietness or a chaos before things start to expand, bloom, evolve and start falling together. Video here.
⋆˙⟡ What you're not changing, you're choosing - I think this might be my mantra for 2025. This video got me inspired. If you're complaining about something - the first question to ask yourself is - what can I do to change this to stop me wanting or needing to complain about it so much? And if something is hurting you, or not helping you, what can you do to reduce, alleviate or set boundaries from this thing in your life?
⋆˙⟡ The most common entrepeneurial mistake of all time - today, writing to you as a 2 x business owner with multiple income streams (podcast revenue, ad-free podcast revenue, monthly healing subscription, PDFs and more) - if I could go back and start all over again, I would take this advice and I honestly think I'd be making more money with a lot less stress. Watch the video here and see how he 10x'd his business revenue with 1 simple decision.
Tiktok Topic of the week 💡
Alex Cooper launching Unwell Hydration
⋆˙⟡ Alex Cooper is my absolute idol for being the most badass babe of a business woman I have EVER met. Building a multi-million dollar empire by being bigger, louder and more brash than the world would ever tell us to be and revolutionizing the podcast industry? Yes, please. Yesterday she announced her newest ‘super secret’ project: Unwell Hydration to mixed reviews. My opinion? Electrolytes are one of the most important parts of our health puzzle - but more plastic bottles and a partnership with Nestlé? That's a no from me personally. Either way, I'm excited to see where she goes with the brand and while an alcohol brand or some sort of TV show was what I was expecting, I'm eager to see the ingredients list so i can weigh in on whether this drink is actually going to help you after a big night out. I'm mostly interested in how Nestle are going to sweetener the drink because I've been fascinated by the research on how artificial sweeteners can f**k up your gut health, leading to gut imbalances, inflammation, gut, health and mood challenges too. And that hangxiety after a night out? It actually might be made worse by this drink. But let's see the formulation.
Until next week, honey...
